YAHAnet Art Contest - Winners Announced!

To celebrate the launch of YAHAnet (Youth, the Arts, and HIV & AIDS network) and the 2008 International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, an exciting new contest was hosted by YAHAnet to promote further dialogue and expression around HIV & AIDS.

THE CONTEST:

Applicants had to submit an original work of art (visual, performance, or text) that was a reflection on the question: “If you know a practice or behaviour could put you at RISK of contracting HIV, why would you do it anyway?”

!!!THE WINNERS!!!

Visual Category: "Passion Wins" by MARIEL GARCÍA MONTES from México

Text Category: "Deadly Payoffs: Why I Risk It" by FELISTA WAMBUI WANGARI from Kenya

Please note: There were no submissions to the Performance category, so there are only two contest winners instead of three.

We received excellent submissions for the contest. You can check out the winning entries and some other notable submissions here: http://www.yahanet.org/network/featured/announcing-winners-our-first-contest

Thank you very much to all the participants and congratulations to the winners!
