Announcing YAHAnet's second global contest (DEADLINE: MAY 20, 2009)

(Version française : http://jemurray.tigblog.org/post/600985)

Youth, the Arts, HIV & AIDS Network (YAHAnet) has finally gone "live"! In order to spread the word about our site, we are launching our second global contest. Info on our last contest and the winners can be found here: http://jemurray.tigblog.org/post/461041.

YAHAnet (http://www.yahanet.org) is a new web-based networking tool for youth. YAHAnet is equipped with video, audio, and image galleries and provides members with a variety of resources such as how-to guides for raising awareness through the arts, fact guides on gender issues and stigma, and up-to-date medical research and case studies. Social networking features include a forum, an events calendar, and workgroups.

CONTEST THEME & QUESTION:

YAHAnet is seeking original artworks created by groups of youth to communicate their thoughts on how HIV and AIDS pertain to the idea of community.

The AIDS pandemic crosses ethnic, cultural, and national boundaries. It affects the rich and the poor, the young and the old, you and I. Through a collective work of art, show us how you and your friends/community stand in solidarity in the fight against HIV and AIDS and work to address important issues.

WINNERS:

The winning group in each category will receive a $100 prize and will be prominently featured on the YAHAnet website. The winners will also be announced at the next YAHAnet event in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Runners-up will have their submissions displayed on the website, as well.

DEADLINE:

Final extension to May 20, 2009

MORE DETAILS:

Examples, entry criteria, and evaluation methods can be found at http://www.yahanet.org/network/news/announcing-our-2nd-global-contest.
